Southern Rain/The Musical
Southern Rain is the story of a group of military 'brats' who after nearly 25 years apart from one another, find that the Naval base they all spent some of the most important years of their lives on, is being demolished. The play opens with us meeting all of the characters today in their respective lives, scattered throughout the United States. At the end of Act One, they come together for a small yet poignant reunion. The second Act takes us back and introduces us to them as they were in high school. The story unfolds showing us that we are who we are, and that sometimes we need to be reminded of it with the help of those who witnessed us becoming exactly that. This all takes place in the southern lushness near Savannah Georgia and both the book and music were written by Lina Koutrakos and Dan Gross. A few songs also have Gross and/or Koutrakos partnered up with: Ted Stafford, Mark Hartman, JP Perreaux and Johnny Rodgers. This is a pop rock musical that believes that every once and a while, maybe when you need it the most and perhaps only for a second or two...you CAN go home again. "Southern Rain" will see it's first public reading in the fall of 2008. |
