From June 15th-19th 2011 a group of singers throughout the Midwest and beyond are coming together to work on their craft in this exciting teaching weekend in Chicago.

Panel discussion with members of the Chicago Cabaret Professionals as well as members of the St. Louis and Washington DC groups. Panel will cover publicity, marketing, social networking, thinking outside the box (working in groups, working in non-theatre settings), touring. Not for the beginner, this event should spark a lively discussion on the state of cabaret both nationally and locally.Asking the age old question: Now that I have the show, how to I get more people to see it and to book it? BECKIE MENZIE HAS NO STANDARDS 7p.m
The Chicago Tribune called Menzie “indispensable to Chicago cabaret.” Her arrangements have been hailed by critics for their remarkable re-imaginings of the works of the American Popular song. "No Standards" showcases her non-standard way of twisting some of your favorite popular songs as well as contemporary songs that she thinks should be standards and a couple of her own originals.
RICK JENSEN GO AHEAD AND DREAM 9p.m Jensen's song "Go Ahead and Dream” is the corner stone of the newly honored feature film “That’s What I Am” staring Ed Harris and Amy Madigan. Rick has musical directed, produced, sung and arranged for and with Jason Graae, Liz Callaway, Lina Koutrakos, Tovah Feldshuh and Nancy La Mott to name a few. This is an evening of many of his multi-awarded original songs and a couple of standards ALL showcasing his commanding and way beyond singer/songwriter chops!

AN EVENING WITH SALLY MAYES 7p.m
Tony Nominated Sally Mayes mixes it up in a magnificent evening of music: theater, jazz, country, pop, standards and stories.The NEW YORK TIMES calls her a “singer of incandescent ebullience, deliciously saucy.” PEOPLE Magazine describes her as “the kind of rich theatrical voice that elevates a show tune.” And TIME Magazine says “Sally Mayes renders songs as richly nuanced as one-act plays.”
LINA KOUTRAKOS 9p.m The NY DAILY NEWS says "She's like a smokey volcano of passion" Koutrakos straddles the pop and cabaret worlds both to great acclaim. The NEW YORK TIMES says of her cabaret performance "Her emotional strength is embedded in singing that has a defiant rock edge."and rock and rolls BILLBOARD MAGAZINE says " She is a master at uniting two distinct styles. An overwhelmingly expressive voice..this woman is the real thing". With Jensen's arrangements the singer/songwriter sings from Ellington to Dylan, and wails from Rodgers & Hammerstein to Jagger!
